Rockhound - What I Learned in this Unit

1.I learned that Bloodstone and Jade are the birthstones of March.An ornamental stone, jade is a name applied to two different silicate minerals.

2.I learned that pumice could float. Pumice can be found in the ocean. Pumice comes in many different colors such as white, yellowish, gray, gray brown, and a dull red.

3.I learned that diamonds are the hardest mineral. Diamonds can be used for jewelry.Diamonds are all so expensive.

4.I learned that Limestone can be used to make chalk. Limestone is a sedimentary rock. Limestone is composed largely of the mineral calcite

5.I learned that Igneous rock made from cooling magma. Magma is from a volcano. if the magma comes out of the volcano it is called lava.
