Rockhound - What I Learned in this Unit

1. I learned that lots of minerals can be found in your house. Marble can be your stair case. Granite can be your counter top.

2.I learned that rocks are shaped by erosion. Erosion is caused by wind,rain and ice.

Erosion also takes lots and lots of time.

3.I learned that fossils are found in Sedimentary Rocks. It takes thousnds of years to form the rocks. The most common fossils are shells and leaves.

4. I learned that gemstones are related to your birth month. Gemstones are stones that belong to certin months. Some gemstones are called aqumarine ,topaz and opal.

5. I learned that diamonds are the hardest mineral. Diamonds can cut rocks. You can have diamond rings!!!
