Rockhound - What I Learned in this Unit
1.I learned that lots of minerals can be found in your house. Stair cases are made of marble. Some small stautues are made of marble.
2.I learned that Metamorphic rock is formed by heat and pressure. The heat has to be greater than 150 degrees Celsius) and extreme pressure.Metamorphic is made from Sedimentary or Igneous rock.
3.I learned that limestone can be used to make chalk. You write with chalk on a chalkboard. Pure limestones are white or almost white.
4.I learnd that Igneous rock is formed from volcanoes. Ingeous rockforms when the magma cools. Ingeous rock also go into the river to cool off.
5.I learnd that diamonds are the hardest mineral. They are also very expensive. Diamonds are used for a lot of jewelery.
What I want to learn more about is Mountains. I will go to to find out.
